Music,
especially sacred music, has always been a unifying human force. At its
most powerful, the harmony created in music serves a glorious example
of the cooperative spirit by which God intends us to live our lives.
| It is
in this spirit that the music ministry at St. Joseph Parish approaches
liturgical music. We welcome all parishioners with open arms and place
no requirements on participants other than a willingness to serve
Christ's church, a commitment to attend rehearsals, and an openness to
learn music and have fun. |
 |
There are
four weekend Masses, each with its own unique musical tone, from
traditional to contemporary, from chants to guitar, and we encourage
you to participate in the variety of styles offered. Keep your eyes on
the parish bulletin for the debut of St. Joseph's newest addition, the
Children's Choir, coming soon. If you would like to participate in the
music ministry, or if you just have comments or questions, please
contact the Pastoral Music Coordinator, Philip Jennings, at
303-279-4464, ext. 16.
Rehearsals
are: Tuesday 7-9pm for the 9:15
and 11:00 Sunday masses, and Wednesday 7-9pm for Saturday's 5:15 mass.
7:30 Sunday mass has a floating rehearsal schedule to accommodate the
musicians free time.
The music
ministry at St. Joseph is dedicated to promoting the connection to the
Divine through the vehicle of music. We invite you to experience the
unifying and healing force of God's music.
