Hopefully, many of you had the opportunity to meet Fr. Dennis Garrou over the past couple of weekends or through the prison ministry. Fr. Dennis will be our full time Administrator while Fr. Matt completes his master's degree in sacramental theology.
Fr. Dennis recently retired as chaplain at the Jefferson County Detention Center and Parochial Vicar at Christ the King Parish in Evergreen where he had served for the past five years.
A married former Episcopal priest, Fr. Dennis was ordained a Catholic priest on May 21, 2011 (through the Pastoral Provision implemented by St. John Paul II). He has three adult children. Raised in an independent Bible Church, he attended Wheaton College and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Fr. Dennis served as a United Methodist minister before being ordained as an Episcopal priest in 1994. He came into the Catholic Church in 2008, receiving his sacraments here at St. Joseph.
