"Our Catholic schools are more than you realize. They provide a haven amidst our morally confused culture, educate the whole person and assist parents in forming their children in an authentically Catholic worldview, one that recognizes the dignity of the human person created for God."
The simultaneous celebration of Catholic Schools Week and the introduction of House Bill 1032 has led Archbishop Aquila to highlight the importance of Catholic schools in helping parents teach their children about human sexuality and the dangers of this legislation. The bill will require public and charter schools to either use a comprehensive sex-ed curriculum that contradicts human nature and is inconsistent with Christian values, or to provide no instruction on sexuality at all. Archbishop Aquila’s letter will be sent to the priests and principals of the archdiocese, and priests will be encouraged to read the letter from the pulpit this weekend.
