Yesterday we focused on one of the most used places in our homes. Today let’s work on the least used places in our homes - unfinished basements, storage areas, guest bedrooms, rec rooms, garages - wherever the hidden corner is in your home, let’s tackle it today.

Step 1 - Declutter

Sometimes these hidden away spaces collect clutter, but now is a great time to go through these spaces. As of right now, Goodwill is still accepting donations 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, but you can always set aside donations to drop-off after the stay-at-home order has been lifted. The Christian Action Guild is only accepting donations of non-perishable food and the ARC Thrift Store is closed as well.

Step 2 - Dust from the Top Down

Start with cobwebs on the ceiling and light fixtures and work your way down. A shop vacuum may work better on unfinished surfaces than your regular vacuum.

Step 3 - Clean

Since we are all working on different spaces today, finish cleaning however your particular space requires - wiping down shelves, cleaning and changing bedding, lint rolling lampshades, tackling stains on floors.

Step 4 - Sanitize

Take a moment to disinfect door knobs, lights switches, or any other place where regularly touched.

Safety: Please read all warning on cleaning products, avoid mixing cleaners, be aware of sources of electricity, and wear proper protection when needed. If you have never had your basement tested for Radon, consider booking a test this summer.
