Please join us for our annual Parish Picnic!
It’s a great way to get to know people in the parish and have fun as a community. We need you at this event to make it a great time!
What is it?
The Picnic is an event we hold every year to celebrate our community. We start the evening with Mass, and then we move outside for the Picnic.
The Knights of Columbus will be grilling hot dogs and hamburgers on the east side of the Education Center, and the rest of the food is potluck. If your dish needs to be kept cool or warm, please bring it to the Holy Family Hall (Community Center) prior to Mass and then carry it down to the Picnic after Mass. We will have tables set-up in the Education Center parking lot, but please feel free to bring a picnic blanket for additional seating.
2022 Schedule
Date
Saturday, September 17th
Mass
After the 4:00 pm Mass
Who can come?
All parishioners, their families, and friends are welcome. The event is free (although donations are always welcome). We would love you to join us even if you are unable to participate in the potluck or decide to come last minute!
What should I bring?
If your last name begins with A-E please bring a salad or side dish to share. If your last name begins with F-L please bring wine or beer. Finally, M-Z please bring a dessert to share. Some desserts will be given as prizes for the Cake Walk, so please feel free to package accordingly. Desserts can also be entered into the Dessert Contest.
How can I help?
We always need a lot help to put on an event of this size. If you can help with set-up (8:30 am - Noonish on September 11th), clean-up (8:30 - 9:30ish pm), or manning Beer/Wine Booth, please email Terri. When we have a bunch of volunteers, set-up and clean-up can go fairly quickly. If you are interested in volunteering with games, cooking, the prize table, or something else, please contact Terri Huff terrih@stjoegold.org.
Anything Else?
Please use the Ulysses St. entrance (closest to the cemetery) when arriving and leaving Mass and the picnic. The Ulysses St. entrance near the Education Center as well as the 10th St. entrance will be closed off so people can safely walk from the Church to the picnic. We will also have a limited number of accessible parking spots on the east side of the Education Center parking lot that can be accessed from Ulysses St. Thank you for your help in keeping this event safe and fun for everyone!
